Just curious for future plans for the mod, but with the the next expansion adding orbital rings, which are basically mini-starbases, is there any plan for that kind of mechanic to be added to the mod? It seems like it could be a neat way to introduce additional types of Starbase to the mod - things like Earth Spacedock seem like they'd be a perfect fit for this kind of role, and it feels to me as if it'd replicate the usual thing seen in the various serieses and movies with starbases orbiting planets without stepping on the feet of the actual system starbase that we have in the mod.

It's just a thought, mind, but it seems like a neat one, and evem if it doesn't come, I'm still very happy with this mod :D
 
Yeah, I've been planning a bunch of stuff to use that system. Similarly I'll be using the PDS version of the Quantum Catapult to improve the Graviton Catapult already in the mod. Players without the DLC will still keep the old version though.

Loaded up this mod for the first time in a while, and I have some quick notes while playing a little as the Borg:

-Borg shouldn't be locked into, or even defaulted to, the Cooperative diplomatic stance. Cooperative stance is for civilizations that try to sign agreements with others and work with others. Belligerent (aggressively declaring war stance), Expansionist (quickly expanding to new systems stance), Supremacist (supercharged Belligerent stance) or Purificiation (eliminate all other civilizations) would all make much more sense for the Borg... unless you are strictly basing the Borg off of the season finale of Picard, in which case I guess that Cooperative could make sense (at the expense of the rest of the pre-existing Star Trek narrative).

-Borg shouldn't have Governing Ethics Attraction as the impact of being a Cybernetic Imperative because hive minds don't use the ethics system -- to keep with that same line of thinking, I might suggest Deviancy reduction rather than ethics attraction.

-Collective tradition "Flexible Drone Refactoring" shouldn't decrease Pop Demotion Time (hive mind pops don't need to demote, they simply take the best job available regardless of strata). Not sure what would fit well in it's place, though, but as it is the tradition does nothing because of the game mechanics for hive minds so anything would be better...

Hey there again

This mod is so absolutely awesome it is crazy, our MP team who plays this has just disappeared prob 3000 hours total in this since it began I am ashamed to say.
The graphics design for ships of late is out of this world compared to some older stuff, the Vulcan line, the latest additions to Romulans, Bajoran Federation ofc etc is insanely sweet.
I have a few questions

Played the Xindi and chose the home world restoration AP I liked it I would have loved a bit more in terms of guidance other then that very sweet. So thank you! Always liked Enterprise series so this was a treat to play solo. I hope there could be a Xindi event if you play them like the Expanse string for Feds but in reverse, would be epic :)

I wish there was more Andorian stuff (my favorite race) especially as events/story goes but I understand it has limited cannon to work with I suppose

The building "Commercial Zone" only has one tier in this mod is that on purpose? It cannot seem to be upgraded even at the end of all tech no matter who we play? I thought this building used to have something like Commercial Plex or some such upgrade?

Also you were kind enough to give me the console for the human Aine dread earlier on this thread and I was wondering if I could ask another console command if there is one for it? The Andorian/Vulcan hybrid? We often play where that is not feasible to get through natural means and would appreciate the tech command for it you can PM me if you do not want to post that public if that is a bother

I love the new exploration clusters and what you can do in them including but not limited to how deadly the Delphi Expanse is (about 50% dead scientists in there hehe) but I am not a fan of the cannot build stations there. It hurts my OCD to the bone and since empires wrap around them anyways I cannot see the argument for leaving them open for business as you cannot get to them anyways unless some kind of mechanic could allow scientists to skate through hostile space.
