Hello I'm trying to upload a mod to the Steam Workshop and I'm getting this error:

File was not found. (k_EResultFileNotFound)

I had previously uploaded it just fine, but when I uploaded it again with a thumbnail.png it caused the error. Unfortunately, removing the thumbnail did not solve the issue.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Bump, getting the same issue. Originally uploaded a mod with a thumbnail, when I tried to update it, it uploaded as a new mod (my fault the name was slightly different), I then deleted that one, but am unable to either update or reupload the mod as a separate mod now. Anytime I use the steam workshop uploader I get this error now for CK3.

So for me, uploading as a new mod has worked on the second try for some reason. Oh well, will just go with that. Good luck

It's a nightmare, and I never found a proper solution that didn't involve screwing around with new mods. And even doing it as a new mod still results in this issue sometimes. I hope we can find a solution, though.

I found my issue, there's like a mod id section and I wrote something in there, but I didn't realise you are supposed to leave it blank if it's a new mod (I think they create one for you and you put it in so it can find your mod when you update it)

sry to ressurect this from the dead, but i still have the problem. there was a solution that yo should not mess with the id / metadata stuff BUT i get this error even if i am creating a new mod and not changing anything. i suspect it has something to do with the converter for the mega-campaigns because i have this problem since i used it once... anyway anybody an idea how to fix it?

Found a solution that worked for me on Reddit from u/Legit_rikk on r/StellarisMods, figured I'd share it here since this is one of the top results for this issue on Google and I couldn't find a solution anywhere else.

When you click "Upload Mod" from the launcher and select "Steam Workshop," the Launcher will autofill the "Mod ID" for you, but will often input the wrong number for some reason. To fix it, you'll have to navigate to your mod on the Steam Workshop, look at the URL for the page - it will end in something like "id=3019964856," with the number depending on the mod. You'll need to erase the number that the launcher autofilled, and copy and paste the correct number from the URL.

For Stellaris Mods, u/Legit_rikk's post also said you'd need to do the same thing in "launcher-v2.sqluite" in your "Paradox Interactive\Stellaris" folder, but my mod was for Victoria 3, so I can't really speak to that.
