I've kept almost all the localization from the old version of VIET as I intend to reintroduce most of the old flavor events. However, this event isn't one of them - it was something I had in the very early versions of VIET Immersion but removed since it was pretty annoying. Not sure how you'd be able to trigger it either way since I haven't added it back in.
Well, that's mysterious. :D
I guess I should comb through the other installed mods to check if someone copied it.

Also, I don't think it's annoying, it's just overpowered.

There's another event after each battle that says something like "we captured a few enemies, what shall we do with them?", and options range from letting them go (+10 Piety) over ransoming them (+gold) to recruiting them (+10 tech, sometimes only military, other times all three). Smaller numbers, but if you have lots of small battles, it sums up. Is that from VIET? If yes, is it possible to add a cooldown or something?

Neat. would these events fire for Al-Andalus? :)

Also any chance you could add the Griot Events back in at some point, and perhaps expand it for other cultures, such as Norse Skalds, European Troubadours/Trobairitz, Gaelic Bards, Arabic Muwashshah(not sure what their poets are called), and so on?

The Griot events were some of the things I loved about VIET in the past, and thus expanding it for other cultures would be great as it would give more love to those who have the poet trait or have a poet honorary title :)

Might have an event or a few that would apply to Iberians, yeah.

And yes, I will consider maybe doing something with the Griot Events in the future - probably more so in an Immersion Pack - but nothing planned at the moment. In the somewhat near future I will do a Socotra Immersion Pack that includes some content a bit similar to the Griot stuff.

Well, that's mysterious. :D

Those events after battle also seem like it's one of those old events too. If you're using other mods then it's possible it might've been someone that integrated some old VIET stuff into their mod - though it must've been from a long time ago, because those events were removed very early in VIET's life (as in ~5 years ago - boy does that bring back memories!). Currently, the code for those events don't even exist in the current version of VIET so there's nothing to fire per se if you're running just VIET.

Found it, it's part of Merciless Ruler, which I thought only provided more options for prisoners, but somewhere in the description it actually mentiones that it has a few post-war-things.
Turns out it has a different localisation, too, I just didn't remember the exact words when looking through the mods for those events. I hope I didn't trouble you :)

Glad that's all sorted out then!

Not sure whats happening, but the game runs smoothly til i close out and load in for my next play session. It always tells me the save is not compatible.

Not sure if that'd be caused by my mod. Does this happen when you use other mods, or a vanilla setup? Maybe make sure your steam files are validated too.

Hi!

Is this mod still ia compatible with HIP?

They just released a new version (furry1)

Thanks!
I'm playing VIET with HIP

I've tried your mod recently, it's pretty nice so far. I just had an Oblivion easter egg event though and I was wondering if it came from your mod. Does it ? Or is it vanilla ?

Yes, it came from this mod. Most events have different event pictures from the ones used in vanilla CK2. 99% of the time it's pretty clear when an event was introduced by VIET. And if you're still not sure, you can open the console, type charinfo, and then hover the mouse over any event option: if the event id includes "VIET" somewhere in the name, then you know ;)

Sorry for the late responses! I was busy last February and had a pretty bad cold for a week or so, so I forgot about the forum lol <_<

Anyways, I was originally planning to release something around Valentine's Day, but I think I should have a new update maybe this weekend.

Curious will you be readding battle events like the ones mentioned above to the mod ?

Yes, I'll be re-adding them, but at the moment I haven't - I want to add them all in one fell swoop, and also because I wanted to see how vanilla's new battle events work so I can integrate mine a little better.

Yup, should be compatible. I don't change any vanilla stuff so it should be compatible with almost everything that doesn't integrate VIET already.

As @Rokh said it is indeed from my mod! I admit I'm quite fond of adding in Elder Scrolls references to my modding work, but some of them are disabled if you're running the "Balanced" option for the VIET Events game rule and most are disabled if you're running "Serious" game rule (though I'm guessing you don't have a problem with them, heh).

Is this compatible with AGOT 1.8?

Technically it is, as I don't change anything vanilla-related, and am just adding in events. Additionally, as @Truewhit mentioned, because a lot of the events are triggered by certain cultures, a lot of events won't be firing; some events may also be referencing to things that wouldn't make sense for AGOT. Otherwise though, I don't forsee any major issues.

I didn't know the charinfo command worked for events. Thanks for the tip :)

You're guessing right, I usually leave the "Balanced" option on. The same way I usually leave the fantasy events on. Still didn't expect that kind of event though. (Nice surprise)

Ah, yes, finally this event... I see it's much tamer now, but it still managed to make me chuckle anyhow :D

Don't worry I'll be bringing back more in the future!

(The more interesting ones will obviously be disabled with the appropriate game rules, which I suppose you probably won't need to care much about.)
