I'm having an issue getting a mod I've made to work when run from the subscribed upload on the workshop. The mod changes tech costs by accessing the 00_scripted_variables.txt file found in Stellaris\Common\scripted_variables

The mod works when run from the local install of the mod, but not from the Steam Workshop version. What's odd is I had to use a very specific prefix on the scripted_variables file otherwise the local install version wouldn't work either. Prefixing the file with "000" or "!" is necessary for some reason.

I've double checked the .mod file and descriptor.mod structure and everything looks to check out, I can't explain why the same exact copy of the mod is working one way but not the other.

Oh wow, that was unexpected.

I removed the local copy that was used to upload the mod from Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod as you suggested and the subscribed variant of the mod is working now.

Thank you!

Ya in retrospect I've run into this problem a few times with other Paradox games and never understood what was going on. Really glad I know about this weird little behavior now!!
