Hello Paradox!

I didnt know where to ask/post this, hope this is the right one.
Im a modder, the creator of the "DeadSpace" mod. For certain mechanics I added new variants of "planet_killer" weapons.

These weapons have the following uses, ALL used by own created ship_sizes:
- "infecting" planets for a hivemind crisis perk
- terraforming with a new origin/FallenEmpire mechanic (existed before the Aquatics came out)
- killing pops with a new ship class (with new crisis perks/FallenEmpire mechanic)
- spawning new advanced empires in the same galaxy map/match with a new ship class as some kind of FallenEmpire

Sadly, recently I noticed that the player needs the Apocalypse DLC to use these mechanics, even when the use of these weapons isnt the same as using the colossus perk from the Apocalypse DLC. Its kinda bad to know that the player cant use some of the modded stuff without having this DLC. I cant reproduce the used mechanics in other ways that would be nice to use for the player.

Would it be possible to let people use modded versions of "planet_killer"-type weapons without owning the DLC? Thanks for your reply!

One of the conditions of modding is that you cannot provide any function or feature from a DLC unless the player owns that DLC - I'm sure you understand why!

Sorry to be unable to help you on this one.
