I have a question as to whether it is possible to turn AI nukes off in the middle of a game. I am playing as Germany on very hard and am doing pretty well in the SU by December 1942 (captured Stalingrad, Baku and on the doorstep of Moscow and Leningrad - though my industry is getting bombed to smithereens by the Allies).

I am concerned that all my efforts will be for nought if/when the USA acquires Nukes and bombs me to bits. I played WIF a few times and found that the ai using nukes pretty much destroys the game.

So is there any way of turning the Nukes off for the AI?

I don't think the AI will build nukes at all in a vanilla game. WIF and some other mods enable nukes, by allowing the AI to use more IC on buildings (the reactors) and allowing the AI to research the nuke techs.

Dunno is correct,

The AI will not have nukes because they are not coded to build reactors so they will never have any nukes in their stockpile. (at least this is what i'm told)

Awesome. I think this way is better. It may be historical that the US got the nukes and could end the war but it sure takes some of the fun out of the game.

Agree'd a longer even war is more fun than one that is lopsided and over fast.

However, you could always counter the American H-bomb with a few of your own... Germany has very good nuclear tech teams also

And if you play with takeover tech teams on, you can get the danish Bohr guy, which is one of the best nukenerds in the game.

Level 9 I think, with nuclear specialities. Everything needed for the bombs at least.
