I modified the sim game constants so that I could actually get paid while playing the game.
It worked fine for a while, then I went back to change the stupid long repair times, and suddenly the game is broken.
I uninstalled and reinstalled and pasted the old file where it should be and it broke the game immediately giving me an infinite load cycle.

I am not using any actual mods.

I feel like I just cant win. I dont want to grind for ten years. I want to play the game in a way that allows me to farm my precious assault mechs quickly. I just cant win with this game.

Any suggestions?

suggestions -

use notepad++ it is free and helps alot in keeping things straight.

there are mods that will do the heavy lifting for you.
(advanced difficulty settings on nexus is one. it will let you reduce costs and increase sell/scrap, payment, salvage and starting cbills.)

and then there is always the save editor on nexus

as for broken game....if verifying games files didnt work then do a clean uninstall/reinstall as per edmons guide.

How does one install such mods? Ive been using note++ for a while now.

I cant ever seem to get btml to work properly, and nowadays everything needs it.

well btml has been rolled into modtek.(via github)
modtek is what you need. (7.2 is latest)
you extract modtek into mod folder.
open modtek folder and run the injector, follow prompts.

thats it other then adding the mods themselves.

So i installed modtek, and CAB, and suddenly the game is broken. I had the game running for about half an hour, and the save feature was broken, so I was unable to save my progress after the opening mission. After which the game froze. It was glorious, but ultimately kind of a disappointment. I wish there was a way to skip that first mission.
