What abilities can he have and what do the do?
I once had a monarch with a civil war ability, does that mean he is better at wrecking the country?

Also why do manufactories get more expensive?
Will they get more expensive countinously or only after you build one?
Whats the use of building more of the same type at once?
Should I save up all my money to put manufactories evrywhere or doesn't it really matter?

Thanx for the input:)

One other thing.
I know that the BB rating decreases by one every 4 years, but does it also lower if you cede provinces during a war?

If so, by how much.

The manufactory represents a major advance in your country's economy, and since each advance builds on the ones preceding, each successive one is more difficult to realise, hence more expensive, than the ones before. (The simple advances get discovered first.) This makes clear the advantage of saving up and starting a pile of them at once - you get them all at the price of the first cheap one. (Maybe this ought to be fixed? Or is it not counted as a bug.)

Monarchs have military, diplomatic and economic abilities, each of which affects your performance in those areas for better or worse (a monarch with diplomatic rating 1 is likely to make people like him LESS when he sends a state gift, for instance. Diplo rating 9 and even countries you've never heard of will be begging you to annex them.) Major monarchs (at least for the major nations) also have tied events ("random & historical events:" these are the historical ones) eg. Elizabeth I of England takes the throne and during her reign you are certain to get two "improved stability" events, a couple of free small armies, but also some diplomatic faux pas which will randomly damage your relations with someone. A monarch with "civil war" ability probably has waves of obscurantism and increased revolt risk tied to his reign, to reflect his utter incompetence at keeping people happy. :D

I know about the diplo/trade/military abilities, they 're obvious. What I really meant is when the new monarch window pops up, then in most cases it says "none" under special abilities, exept for that one guy who had a civil war ability. Isn't there a list somewhere that shows you all the possible special abilities and their effects.

Also I was still courious abou that BB thing

I've never seen one, but you can usually guess .... "diplomacy" probably means you'll get some random improvements in relations, "good government" probably means you'll get stability increases, "army" means new soldiers for free etc. "Civil war" looks kinda ominous :D

Saving lots of money early in the game so as to build lots of manufactories at once is a fair strategy, but not a great one. You will save some money on some of the manufactories, but you lose the research funding that each earlier manufactory would give you - that's 60 ducats per year - plus the 12 ducats of income, while your money is just sitting there doing nothing and your research is still weak. Better to buy them as you get the money, and hopefully you will have a stronger economy when the price goes higher. By the time you have about 5 naval factories, 2-3 refineries, 1-2 art galleries, and maybe a couple of goods manufactories, then your research will be strong enough to save money for awhile and later put a big chunk of it in some more manufactories.

Arguably, this is a catch-22 situation: you need the manufactories early when you don't have much money; later you will have lots of money but will not need more manufactories.

Sometimes you do. At least when you annex them. :D

The traits and events are in "Historical Monarch Events.csv". Note that the EU game reports to you the "trait", which is associated with an event, but that the same event can be used to show different traits. Also, you will see as you examine this file that there are some events which have no traits listed. You will not see these events indicated by "traits" on the monarch report, but they will occur in the game.

Let me re-emphacize, that a trait is completely different from an event. Essentially, a trait is just a customizable tag that shows up in the monarch report - the game executes against the code for the event - not the trait. Because the same trait can be attached to different events (and vica versa), you need to look at a particular "Historical Monarch Events.csv" to understand just how the programmer has structured traits and events (although the Leader Editor will give you a good start on this).
