Hey hey hey, nobody annexed Moscow. It is battle of Moscow, now I just need to surround and destroy Paulus's army :)
It was a miracle how I survived, losing about half of army in the beginning.

In south Romania and Italy troops are threatening Baku and Ukrainian steppes.

Despite the US war entry nice progress by the Axis so far. I think, though, that I've found the miracle that saved Traks. The Great Patriotic War event fired twice, which means the SU ground defense efficiency has gone up to 1.3 instead of 0.7. I don't know if any added value above 1.0 counts, but it is a huge advantage for the SU (almost 50% at least) in all cases. It has happened once before in one of my SP games. At a certain point the battles became so difficult to win that I suspected it happened again in this game. This morning I checked the save and noticed SU's ground defense efficieny was 1.3. I checked the history log as well and as I suspected the firing of the GPW event has been registered twice there (May 15 and May 24 1940). We can't change what happened yesterday, but I would like to see this value edited, because with this bug the SU effectively has 50% to 100% more troops than in reality.

Erm, bug? I said I believe in miracles, so miracle happened :) And yes event fired twice but I do not know what it gives to me so I just ignored it. I will follow the vote of majority for editing it.

And 1.3 instead of 1.0 means 30% bonus not 100%, at least my math skills say so :)

The GPW event is constructed in such a way that SU's ground defense efficiency should become 0.7, it's even lower before that. Now it's 1.3, but even if it's capped at 1.0 (which I don't know) your advantage is 43%. If it's not capped at 1.0 your advantage is 86%.

Moscow has never been touched, it got real close but never touched. After a rather quick offensive the German army kind of sputtered out and had to reorganize. Then they made some breaks but here and there but never took Moscow. Romanian went east unopposed and now are facing some resistence and after taking Stalingrad are in full retreat. 4 Romanian divisions almost got captured but were saved by the emerging Italians.
I was suprised Afica fell so easily but I guess other priorities like military control of China kept him from focusing on it. With USA in the war and the Russian front stabilizing it seems Germany needs some extra vigor. I also seem some leaves falling and the weather a little chilly and you guys know what that means.

O and Brazil having triumphintly annexed Uruguay and after failing the initiaitve crossing an Argentina river are now in a stalemate haveing to take the really long way around the god forsaken river.

I have logged the double GPW as a bug so we might hope for a fix in 1.3. I agree that this ought to be corrected by editing the save. The value ought to be set to 0.8 which is the value that every other country has. Note that the End of the Winter War events add .1 to GDE which I think accounts for the difference between .7 and .8 values which Herodotus mentions.

Andrew

Ok, if everyone have 0.7 and I due to that event have to have 0.8, I do not mind editing it to that value. It is fair, though things will go much more tough for me :)

Still this game is great experience with SU and many new ideas.

You saved me the effort of sending my first bug report. It's very well possible that it should be 0.8. The event file has the comment "# Rise to 0.7". This made me believe that it should be 0.7, but I haven't thoroughly checked it myself and this "# Rise to 0.7" doesn't necessarily include the Winter War.

what days to you play i would love to join.thxs. reed justin p.s i love hoi2.

This game has the poetic name "Monday Game" for a practical reason. We're not expecting to become the first group of people to win the Nobel Prize for literature ;) . Unfortunately we just missed out on the one for peace as well. Sorry, couldn't resist. Just be aware that we play during Europe's evening, probably afternoon for you. If that's no problem, you're welcome to join us at 17:00 GMT. Pity you lost to the Pacers.

well unfortunately due to my timezone I'm not going to make the game this Monday (will make it next though) I wont be home until 4:00 EST and I believe this starts 1:00 EST. So unless I show up for some reason I believe Brazil is open for this week. Which is a perfect country for you. You get to fight a war with Argentina and watch the Eastern front.

I will confirm on Sunday night just to make sure.

If Mr. G would be able make it after all, you are welcome to join us as well. There will be some other countries available that might suit your taste: Comintern Finland, Axis Norway, any Commonwealth country, Argentina for a good dogfight, to name a few.

I'd love to join u next week too. It seems to be nicely opened. :) Let me know if u can handle it.

Looks like our NBA player fouled out. Our host can take up to 10 players. We are approaching that, but there is still room for you. Hope to see you tonight.

Just to make it clear for myself. You start at 19:00 cet. My time is now CEST. Does it mean I should be there at 18:00 my time (CEST, which is CET+1 as I believe :)).

It's safest to assume that CET really means CEST at this time of year, after the clocks have gone forward. I'll be there at 18:00 UK summer time which is 17:00 GMT.
