Really? Not very faithfull, eh?:D

By my sources, nothing more than the Marco Polo series on DVD:D They received two priests to accompagny them who ran away after they were captured by an ex-christian now muslim-commander who set them free and suggested the Polo's to return to Italy. In how far it's true and in how far the romanticizing has gone for such series I don't know;)

I said Christianism... the actual people would be long dead, but Christianism lived on in China and surrounding areas until 845 A.D. when they got trouble in China but survived in parts of Mongolia. When the Yuan (Mongol) dynasty arrived in China ~1270 they also brought with them Nestorian Christian Mongols...
... and if I'm correct, by the 14th century there even was a catholic episcopate installed in Beijing. I believe that most catholics could actually be European traders residing in the trade districts...

There were lots of Christians from all different faiths going to and from China during that period, mostly due to the Mongol's religious tolerance policies.
