Hey - we just discovered there'll be a new look to the forum some day. I'll take whatever info we can get.

The problem is that CK is a long ways from release by the sounds of it. HOI is closer, and as a result we're getting a bit more information ver there (and even a couple of screenies).

Yeah, they announced the game too soon. They shoulda waited 'til after Legion was out to announce it. Then things would not be so dull around here. :(

But there is hope. Fall is not too far away - o.k. so it is too far away, but pretend it is near and think of what you are going to write on your beta application to make them select you.:)

If not announce - I guess the forum opened a bit early...

I would love to spill some more information, but there is nothing I know that isn't already posted :(

That said, I hope I get some attention on this though. I am working on a CK fansite, and am wondering what should be there? I'm thinking general game info (obviously) and editing info (ditto). The problem is that these are impossible to work on at least until the beta start.

Another thing I'm thinking about is a (hopefully) large history section about the time period; I'd like maps, a section of biographies and general history about the crusades and the time era covered by the game. It is pretty obvious to me that such a history section need the works of several people to be anywhere near complete. I've already asked khurjan if I can use some of his excellent posts on military history, but I'll welcome any suggestions and/or contributions to the project. :)

Excellent idea Havard! Should you need any help on Eastern European history for the website (or even the non-playable Seljuk Turks) please do give me a PM :)

Well I'll surely need some help there. I have been collecting some biographic info so far, and has compiled a short genealogy of the crusader states. I'll start on a more general introduction to the Crusades now soon...

Shortly after the major cursades ended the 100 years war kicked in and took up a big chunk of time in the CK era - in fact about 1/4 of the time.:)

There's a subject someone can get their teeth into.

Between the crusades and the 100 years war, you have most of CK covered (not that they were the only things happening during CK time),:)

"Fall" is a pretty big chunk of time... does "betatest in Fall" mean early September or end of October? I would even be satiated with only which month in Fall we would be looking at...

Any of those months it could be. Date is unsure so that is why they say fall because it is broad.

I think this is a great idea! :) I can help out a bit on Irish & English history, if you need anything in that area. Let me know if I can help at all.

The Paradox team *have* been on vacation. They did not all go at the same time. Johan came back last week and Patric is due back this week.
HOI will be out first so, naturally, that forum will develop first.
This forum will develop and expand as more work is done on the game. We have to have patience folks - Paradix is still a small team and they are doing very well to work on 2 games and produce patches for EU2.
Just talk amongst yourselves for a while - or even visit the HOI forum now and again :)
I know it is frustrating - I am looking forward to CK too - but things will progress at their own speed. No point giving a date as that has been tried before and, if not met, causes friction. Just bear with it ........ and Paradox...........

EDIT: Incidentally you may have noticed that 2 more Moderators have been added to this forum ........ so we are expecting things to happen here :)

The history stuff would be nice, but what I'd really love is the same kind of editing & reference material you provided for EU2! Website is great and was a big help wading through the EU files (thanks by the way :)).

Of course! I have no plans to abandon that idea for CK :)
