I have been having a problem with this game for ages! I origninally bought it on Amazon, because I like to have my games on a disk. I tried playing it, and it would randomly CTD and said windows was looking for a fix to the problem. After getting fed up with it, yesterday, I paid again, and downloaded it on Steam, and it seemed to work fine. Every once in a while it would CTD, but thats nothing turning on autosaves cant counter. Now I'm facing a new issue. My current game as Macedonia keeps freezing. It doesnt CTD, it just freezes and when I try CTRL+Alt+Del, i see that the game is not responding. It never responds anymore. I have tried launching it 5 or 6 times, and I can't seem to get all the way through January before it stops responding. Is there any reason why now all of a sudden after hours and hours of playing it that it would stop responding?-

I'm playing as Macedonia, and I'm fighting a war with Rome, as is Carthage. It seems like its too much for the game to handle and it stops responding. I stated a new game, and it seems to be working fine, until it just CTD But my computer more than exceeds the reccomended requirement for the game, so I dont know why it would be crashing or not responding.

What version and checksum show in the main game screen?
Please run DXDIAG, Save All Info, and post dxdiag.txt here (first delete everything after the Sound Devices section so it will fit). Also post your Rome/settings.txt and Rome/logs/system.log files. Note that if you use Vista/Win7 and have installed the game in the suggested folder c:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Rome\, the active versions of these last two files will have been redirected by Vista/win7 to a non-system directory, like c:\Users\[name]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis - Rome\, where [name] is your Vista/Win7 user name. You may have to search your C: drive for them.
Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video 1/ before you start th egame and then 2/ after say 30 minutes' play. If you have no way of reading temps, Google for and install SPEEDFAN.
