OT, but do you happen to know which christian rulers are 'dark culture' at the scenario's start date?

(Armenia is strange, cause they show up as 'dark' in the selection screen, but are 'light' in game. What a pity...)

I think only Nubia and Alania are 'dark' culture christian realms.

So what are daughters good for again?

- with good stats stay at court (chancellor and steward)
- marry them off for prestige

If I marry them off to powerful Kings and Dukes, won't that give them a possible claim on my dynasty?

You can be inherited if you don't have a male heir, and your daughter has a boy. (father is an other dynasty)

For this, it is useful to start a second line of your dynasty at some point (by giving duchies to more then one kid), so that when your main line seems to be dying out, you can change to elective inheritance law, and give enough land to the distant relatives, so that the title stays in the dynasty.

T ogo back to the original question, playing the Crusader States is very much good fun. Either playing them from the second start (haaaard) or my favorite, start as a culture you want and get down there and conquer for God, give the title to a brother and let him loose. My game as a lombard king of Jerusalem was probably my best.

Duke of Lancaster was good fun as well. Intriguing to get the english crown is always good fun!

So how am I doing here? My two oldest sons got killed in battle while I was at war with both Germany and England. However, I managed to snag the title of King of Germany, and my youngest son turned out to be an even bigger bad arse. He's now got every title I can give him without losing control of four provinces and France itself. At 47 I figure I'm bound to die sometimes son, and the Duke of Orleans, my son Philippe II is bound to inherit (I hope!)
