I have 4 domes setup in super close proximity (2 small and 2 medium), in "x" shape.

I am super frustrated as I have all my filters setup just like I did pre-patch (I'm playing a new game) and of 25 seniors, only 1 moved to the retirement dome on their own. I have all the settings for domes "open" for acceptance, no dome is closed or quarantined. As mentioned my filters have been triple checked and are done properly.

Anyone have the same experience? This is destroying my wrists as I have to keep clicking housing to find grey haired people then click each one and click the dome etc etc.

Yep, in fact I gave up on my new game yesterday because I was fed up of having to micro manage colonists. Seniors ignoring filters was one of my issues (along with the new workplace filters not working at all).

I "fixed" this problem, even before the Spirit Update by having many vacant housing slots in all my domes. Setting traits and adding an Arcology to an otherwise full basic dome really helps to get the old people to move in. I still have a problem balancing the no specialization colonists. It seems to be all or nothing ATM.

I discovered the problem. I had set the senior filter to not accept scientists and botanists, but accept anyone else than was a senior or middle aged so they could employ the buildings. Well, all the people who were seniors were actually scientists and botanists because that's the first group I brought to Mars. I'd thought that the specialization filter didn't apply to seniors.

I've also found you just can't use the no specialization filter as it's too hard for the game to manage.
