Mouse freezes every minute

Have any of you folks seen this? While playing the German version of the game with patch 1.04, the mouse cursor freezes for about 4 seconds every minute or so. It doesn't matter what is happening in the game, and even happens in the game selection screen.

I experience much of the same thing until I turned off the music of the game, then it stopped. I beleive it was because it was spinning up the CD in the player to fetch some part of the music/sound effects. Try turning them off and then see if it goes away ?
