Hi, after updating Stellaris to v. 3.14.15926 (ca68) the mouse pointer does not select the buttons correctly, it is greatly offset (upwards), making it impossible to play.

I use Steam on Linux, and if I exit the game everything is fine even the launcher.

I'm very, very disappointed and to say that I bought some new DLC and the game is unplayable....

I would like to resolve it as soon as possible, thanks.

Is the game in fullScreen, borderless or windowed mode?

What resolution is the game in vs your desktop?

I could confirm that fullscreen mode in version 4.0.4 is working but borderless mode is corrupted (you need to clink on ui with offset to reponse). I have 2 monitors and I'm using a lot stellaris wiki when playing so playing in borderless mode is most convinient for me. Is there any chance to get fix (or work around) of this bug?

Generally speaking you'd have the game in the same resolution as your Linux desktop is - does that help?

I have the same resolution as desktop but my native resolution for my monitor is 1920x1200 with ratio 16:10. The most common resolution for Full HD is 1920x1080 ratio 16:9. Maybe this is the reason? Around year ago (just before launching machine age) it was working well.

That is possible I guess. If you try those different resolutions does it help at all? Supported resolution/refresh rate combinations are listed in system.log

Using different resolution doesn't change anything. But I figure out one thing in the system.log. When the borderless mode is enabled then this message appears:
[22:57:12][graphics.cpp:800]: Creating device with: HARDWARE_VERTEXPROCESSING
Fullscreen=no
Resolution=1920x1163

in fullscreen mode it is different

[23:06:39][graphics.cpp:800]: Creating device with: HARDWARE_VERTEXPROCESSING
Fullscreen=yes
RefreshRate=60
Resolution=1920x1200

I think the borderless mode runs some resolution calibration which is maybe not necessary.

That is because in borderless mode, the game must use the refresh rate of the Linux desktop; same with windowed mode. This also applies to Windows and MacOS BTW so it is nothing to do with your problem.

Are you using Ubuntu? Because it is the only supported Linux distro for this game, indeed for all our games.

I'm not talking about refresh rate but that in borderless mode your game is setting resoultion different than desktop resolution (which is set in settings) - 1920x1163 instead of 1920x1200. The linux distrubution doesn't have any influence because all linux distros share the same software e.g. Gnome Desktop. This missing 37 pixel is that what generates black bar on the top of the screen and this is the offset of mouse cursor which generates missclick. Below video shows perefctly the problem

I see lots of reports online of black stripes on Linux desktops, eg
but no single clear cause AFAICS.

I agree that resolution thing looks wrong though; unfortunately I don't currently have a Linux setup to test this on but I'd guess this is a new bug in the game. You are of course welcome to post that in Bug Reports here, meanwhile playing in fullScreen seems to be the only option!
