Mouse-stuttering with Doomsday

Doomsday is my first HOI-game so I don't know whether this is true for the former versions, too. The mouse is stuttering in a running game. It is like with monster-3d-games slowing the fps. Is this possible?

I own an P IV 3,06 with 512 Mb RAM. Other games don't cause this problem. The game is not unplayable but it is "destroying" my eyes.

I already tried everything, changing the mouse-puffer, detection per seconds, hardware-acceleration and so on.

Sounds like your game is slowing down, take a look at this FAQ, it was written for Victoria but it applies equally to DD including the file names that can be renamed ...

Tried it all, as well as an older grafic driver and different windows-settings.

The mouse even stutters when the game is paused. But it runs smoothly in the menue directly after startup.
