So I get ahold of my bro who has the game also. We decide to hook up with an MP. Since we both had 56k, we had to go it slow settigngs. Which was ok. We decided to play against each other. My bro is UK I am germany. Which is cool. I warn you tho. Nothing fancy here. Just an AAR..
1936-1939:
First thing is first. I talked pretty with him over the phone. "Oh there wont be any war between us brother".."In fact we'll sit our fat asses on europe and hold onto it ourselves". Rigghtt. All a show. Bye 1938 I had annex chezk and Austria and then denmark. My bro had built up a massive army and during this time was dispersing it around. About 30 divisions were built and shipped off to colonies in africa and the middle east. Kind of positioning for my attack. I knew he had the french on his side, which would prove to be a problem when I did decide I wanted to go to war... I tried to get spain into the axis, they declined. But he got Portugal and Belgium to join the allies. Still no war, yet our panzers were getting better and better. Bye May 1938 we had 11 panzer divisions and 39 infantry/other division organized into 8 corps. As well as several air groups. After awhile I realized my economy needed more resources. I began a slow project to build a navy capable of controlling the baltic sea. In middle 1939 my navy had grown to a very impressive size. 5 battleships and some 27 other capital ships. Nothing to scoff at...I decided to head for norway and denmark. Within 3 months the tiny baltic country, norway, surrendered. Denmark held out in Copenhagen for some time. The norwegian navy was a bit more than I bargained for. Having some 3 modern ships they able to sink one of my priceless battleships
. Losses were minimal tho, and to my suprise...my brother did absolutely nothing during all this. Then 2 months later I sent 3 corps into poland and quickly submitted her to my rule. Only 2 days earlier, david declared war on Italy and attacked libya and the AI fleet at Bengazi. I decided to go with my allies and in november 1939, I dow back. Attacked belgium, immediately forcing her to capitulate and bombed the crap outta holland, tho it should be noted the dutch did not surrendur. Rather they were bottled up in a pocket in the northeast province and were fighting very tough..I just surrounded them and kinda ignored them. My brother and the french sent hordes of bombers to the ruhr. No biggie tho, my air force was prepared. As well, the AA guns took a nasty toll on his forces.I soon drove straight to paris, no tricky flanking here... the french, didnt have a chance. Tho superior in forces and equipment. Something about there troops wasnt right. I couldnt put my finger it...Organization? They fell over every major engagment like a fat-man walking on ice. Eventually Paris fell and Vichy came unfortunaly my italian allies had lost all there african colonies, as well there entire navy had been damaged in the melee escaping from libya. Aswell, my own navy took a beating. Tho while some U-boats did damage, my surface fleet was pummeled in december of 1939. I wanted to make good use of the harbors in northern norway. To do this, I would have to slip out while the RN wasnt looking, or fight my way out. I chose the former, I sent out the bismark with 1 lt cruiser and 4 DD. The ships were intercepted by a horde of my brothers torpedo bombers. All escorts were sunk, but the Bismark limped back to Sund. Then came the finish war with russia event, Along with a CTD....unfortunately, we broke off the game here. Vowing to continue it sunday. God bless the save feature :\
