HELP! MP internet game using two LANs

Hi all,

I would need some technical help, if possible. My knowledge about computers and LANs/Internet configuration is very low, so please explain any solutions as if I were a two years old child ))

I have at home two computers connected with a HUD. The HUD is connected to the modem.

My brother has at his home two computers connected with a router-modem.

The problem is when we try to connect and play EU2. We don't find each other.

Any solution, please?

Thanks a lot in advance.

I was just wondering a few things. What type of modem do you have 56K, etc....? When you try to connect and find each other do you use IP'S? The reason why I am asking is that if you have 56k modem your ISP gives you a new IP everytime you sign on, so that using your LAN IP would not work as it is only for offline use and is not used online.

Actually, ANY dialup and some cable/ADSL ISPs use dynamic IPs, which can change on every unique sign on.

Unless you are certain you have a static IP, you should always use "dynamic IP" in your network settings.

Thank you. I have posted it in support.

Both modems are ADSL. We use the IP of each computer, but we don't find each other (

Somebody has told me that I may need to open some ports.

Have you tried using VNET? Or has all this been done over IP connection?

EDIT: Also if you have a firewall you need to open up ports 47624 and 23000-24000 and redirect them to your lan-ip.
