I am trying to connect two computers on my lan, they were both updated to DD 1.2 and then had armeggeden installed and updated to 1.1, both checksums are GKCW and both computers can see each other outside of the game over the lan just fine, all firwalls have been turned off.

Also they can see each others games over valkyrie net but cannot connect to each other, i get the error that there is no game being hosted at my ip address, and i have port forewarding setup on my linksys router.

does anyone know anything about not being able to connect on the lan?

You cant connect 2 pc's over Vnet off the same connection.

Correct. Outside internet will only tend to communiticate to one of your computers at a time, and playing with yourself is no fun :p

If you want players from both lan and internet to connect to the same game, try hosting a internet game on the machine in DMZ mode (router setting).

Now you should be able to connecting manually from inside your own network using the lan IP (192.168.0.x), and connect from internet using your internet IP adress ( http://www.whatismyip.com/ )
