Will having EEP installed affect your ability to play online games of EU 2? Even if you launch the game normaly and not with the EEP icon?

We both have the North American copy of the game, we both did a clean install, and we both applied the 1.07 patch from the Strategy First website. The only difference is that I have the newest EEP installed.

But we can't seem to connect in direct IP and in Valkrienet it says version mismatch.

Any ideas?

Well, the obvious suggestion here would be for you to re-install everything, and make sure you have the same version of EEP, just for a trial. If that doesn't work, than I don't know.

If you don't lauch from the icon the game shouldn't even be checking to see if there is a moddir. So this definitely should not be a problem.

Well, it was. I had to make a second, unchanged version of EU 2 for our versions to add up.

It just seems unfair that both people have to have EEP installed if we want our verisons to match up for online play.

Even launching the game normaly -- i.e., without using the EEP launch icon -- resulted in a version mismatch error.

I don't recall having this problem with previous EEP versions.

Just thought I'd mention this in case the coders want to look at it. :)
