While playing an MP something happened to me that never has before. Maybe its a known issue but here is the skinny anyone out there know why this happened?

Facts:

1. Japan overruns China and has take everything except a few provinces to the west, it has not annexed or puppted.

2. Russia DOW's Japan

3. I as the UK give Expiditionary forces from Hong Kong to Nationalist China.

So here is what happened, I moved North cant remember the province north of Hong kong. Now Imediately the division began to loose strength and org it was out of supply, I know that but I had the save game file and tested it twice, each time I was able to take that division and run him north take a few provinces then return him back to myself. Just hit runs to be a pain in Japans side, but in the game as soon as this division got to the Japanese controlled province it was there for a flash I could see it and then it dissapeard.

It had 95 strength and 19 org, yeah it was out of supply but shouldnt it have taken the province? is this a bug? because I tested it and it worked in SP mode. This really sucked because anyone who plays the UK knows you cant toss divisions away, and it was a crucial element for a coordinated strategy.

I can live with loosing the troops if there is some supply issue, or infra, but I tested it in SP it worked so I dont know what happened.

Anyone?

I tested our game, after starting from the save I can now take military control of all puppeted nations.

Odin, quit trying to be so sneaky, the Gods are punishing you!

Legit issue

No B.S. thats what happened.

Fpolli cant take military control because he is apart of an alliance, Germany has to. Plus Greece has to formally join the alliance if its a puppet.

So anyone out there know what the hell happened in Hong Kong? any help would be welcomed.

For some reason you cant assume military control over your puppet before you save and reload the game.

If you grant expeditionary forces to the Nationalist Chinese, do the Nationalist Chinese provide the supply for those units or does the UK? I suspect that if the Chinese were responsible for providing supply, that might be the cause. China only has a few provinces left and is probably hard pressed to supply additional units. What's strange is how quick the org dropped though.

When I encircled and defeated some Chinese units a couple sesssions ago, they retreated to Japanese occupied territories. However, they were not immediately destroyed, as usually happens. Instead, they walked around some of my provinces for several months. They never took control of those provinces, just passed through. Eventually, they went away. Perhaps the two are linked some how.

Agreed

I agree, I got that in my testing. I knew that the org and strength would continue to drop and drop and eventually the unit would die.

But it dosent explain why at 95 strength and 19 org I couldnt occupy the enemy province. The unit arrived and then just vanished. It had attack strength and org it didnt retreat. So yes the lack of supply would -eventually- kill the unit but it should have at least been able to move to the province take it and move on, or move back.

In my testing I took 1 unit and kept moving it around and the strength just kept dropping and org went to 0 but it still occupied the province.

Maybe

Could be a freak occurance, still sucks. The strat is kinda blown now as the UK that early in the session there arent a lot of things you can do particularly when your WE is 46.

I just hate getting burned by an anomoly or a freak occorance. If I screwed up fine but I dont see how, these random ghost events like this can kill a strat.

But onward an upward, still love the game.

As Italy, I conquered Greece and puppeted it. But I can't assume military control, AND I cannot even see Greek territory except where my units have LOS.

Switch views a couple (between normal, ind, dip whatever) and the country should eventually become fully viewable.

or

assume military control. Now, just to show I read the whole message, it takes about a week of "game time" before you can assume mil control of a conquored country
