The MP forums have been a little quiet lately, so I thought I would try to get some discussions going. As anyone that has played MP can tell you, it requires a whole new set of strategies than were used in SP. So, what are your general strategies for newbies or players unfamiliar with playing as the USA?

Not a lot of comments on the USA...

Alright, here's a thought.

Get military access from the UK and then move your carriers to the Atlantic. Use the carriers to ferry strategic bombers to the UK so they are in place once the USA can join the fight.

You could also set up convoys to ferry supplies to the UK/France

Ok, here is a question for the USA player: Take out Japan or Germany first, assuming all majors are human controlled?

I prefer to mostly ignore Japan if they give me that option. I will defend my holdings in the Pacific and that's usually it. Only if they get truly aggressive will I bring the fight to Japan. This is mainly because the Allies need all the help in Europe they can get. And if I had more forces to spare, I'd send 'em to Africa

I did not know strategy was necessary for usa

Let's see, sit back behind my ocean and huge fleets for three or four years, research the entire tech tree, share all the techs with the allies and russians, then build about 100 divisions to send over in two waves in my 50 transports I've built, land anywhere on Europe and steamroll everything in your path. Who needs strategy?

One thing. Just incase the axis feel clever/brave and try to invade you (Either by one big landing or 20 small ones in every single province... or by Mexico), it might be wise to build infantry units with eng. brigades to defend your beaches...

It mainly depends what happens to Soviet Union. If its defeated/very weak or hostile to Allies (or Allies are hostile to it :D), take out Japan first, and then prepare large amphibious landing in Europe. I mean really large.

If Soviet Union is your ally, scramble as many land forces as you can, and try to land where you can. Be it North Africa, Italy, Spain, Norway, Balkans, or France.

You don't want to meet Soviets too far west.
