Hello, I am having trouble Hosting or connecting to a Host, alwasy getting the message that IP is not hosting a game, or game host not found at that IP.

All my port settings are correct (I know I have them all open). So does my other player. Any other game hosts fine.

*Update*- Well we had a 3rd party purchase the game those two can connect fine I still get this....

"No game host found at ip *** *** ** ***... Please check the address adn try again."

Now I know there is a host at that IP because someone was able to connect to him fine... Any ideas?

I ping the host fine out of the game.

Is it possible that you have a different patch applied than the others, or that you have added a scenario/mod patch or editted one of the game files yourself? If you aren't running with exactly the same set of files you won't be able to connect.

Is it possible that you both have ISPs that use dynamic subnet-routing?

Have you tried (briefly) disabling your firewall and putting yourself in the dmz to see if you can connect? Is there anything unusual at all in your connection that is different from your friend's (the one that has a cable connection like yours)? Lastly, what OS are you running with?

I think that one of this forum's mods (I'm just visiting :)) might end up moving this over to the MP forum (*hint*) but until then I'll see if I can help you sort it out.

I have had the same problem, but an even wierder thing is that I sometimes can connect to that IP if I shutdown HoI and restart it. Any ideas?
