Ok, here we go,

I have EU 2 1.05 English on a brutal XP machine that has no problem at all running the game, it kicks a lot of ass, BUT I can't get multiplayer to work. I log into Valkyrie.net, get into the chat section, try to join a game (I see that others can join) and then it says : No game was detected at xxx.xxx.xx.xxx and I get dumped into the chat. Help. I want to humiliate and destroy my fellow human being! P.S. My internet is cable from Holland and I am on a network here in my house.

Who knows what to do?

if you have a firewall or an antivirus software, disable it and try again.

I have the same problem, but I don't have a firewall on... Are there any other possible sources of this?
if you have Windows XP, there is a firewall that is enabled by default. disable it.

V-Net is apparently down and it will need Patric (who is on vacation) to restart it :( I am sorry but you can't use V-Net for now

I'm using Windows ME with no fire wall or anti-virus soft ware installed and I'm have the exact same problem as the previous poster. I can log into the chat room but can't join any game.

Is this a problem with me or is V-Net still down as of Aug 3rd?

better ask in the MP forum

Does the 'Host' a game button work for the people having trouble getting multiplayer working?
I've had this problem since EU1 on my Win2k box, which is also the gateway computer to the internet for my home network. I don't know what's wrong, but I had the same trouble with a game called Conquest:Frontier Wars and an old voice comm client called Battlecomm. However other games and programs work fine over the internet. I did get one game going ONCE using my winME box on the network to connect to someone but it hasn't worked out since.
