Sorry the FAQ was a little longer of a read than I would like......

Just a few queries on it?

1) There is a variable speed system in MP games as we love in other Paradox games......
2) IIRC there is coop play?
3) Dynamic re-entry for new players joining or those previously dropped?

Thanks guys for what seems like an amazing simulation

Miss the days of Harpoon and Fleet command. You are truly revitalizing and creating a new genre...

Hi ETF for your kind words.

1. Don't know how it works in other games, but we have a "lowest requested speed" system in multiplayer.

2. Sorry we don't have coop at launch. May be a strong candidate for a later addition.

3. We don't have dynamic reentry.

Should be fun, and not long now :)

And also would be very funny if could also play 2vs 3vs3 etc in the future.

More multiplayer options than 1vs1 is certainly something we're thinking about. The engine supports it, except we have to add things like team vision, but it will require a few changes to the gui.

The major problem is creating scenarios where this works well.

Since you have NATO ( multicultural alliance ) vs Russia ( a single country ) I'd advise something like NATO ( 2 players pick any nations, for example USA and Norway ) vs two Russian admirals. One admiral-player control Northern fleet ( and he/she starts the game somewhere on North ) and admiral of Baltic Fleet ( and he/she starts somewhere at Baltic sea).

The goal could be – controlling the sectors or destroying land objects.

I believe it would be nice coop for the both sides.

Personally I’m playing Wargame – EE and I love this game in multiplayer. I’d love to see something the same in your game!

Just make Radar/Sonar/Visible detections team-wide, rather than player-wide, and expand the battle report to include your other team-members.

Also, allow all the team to see units' map orders. Would be cool if there was a little 'pencil' tool for drawing plans on the map, but eh :p

Something like that could work well (obviously having allies so far apart would make this a week long game, but the principle is good). Or you could have one player be navy and the other the air force.

One can change the speed correct if both players agree?

Multiplayer beyond the 1vs1 scenarios are crucial to expanding the playerbase.

It would be easy to establish a "Friendly Data Link" in game, similar to what is currently used in reality.

+1

Take SC2 for ie. There have I meet alot of nice ppl that ive play with using skype, and dont think ive would still playing SC2.

Please add Coop, my friends and I like to play the US, I can't convince them to switch sides for a 1 vs 1. It would be terrific if we could play through the campaign missions on the US side, with each player controlling certain units, and having the AI control the enemy, which it does anyway in SP campaign!

In MP if the AI could control one side or the other then we could team up against it when games are not to be found online.

Coop would extend the life of this game so much if the AI could fill a role when players are not available. Plus, I could get more of my friends to buy this title if they knew it had Coop.

Yes for Coop, in missions or MP, that's what we are talking about! I have friends who like to play Submarines, some prefer Carriers, some land-based air wings. Depending on the missions allotment, those forces could be divided amongst the active players, and the AI could assume any unfilled roles on the enemies side.

If one player could have Subs, another the Carrier and it's Air Wing, another surface ships, and another land-based air assets, (or any combination thereof), it would make for some incredible games.

I just hope it wouldn't be too hard to patch it into the game, since the AI already controls the opposition in SP games, hopefully it wouldn't be a pain for the Devs.

Couldn't you just use the existing scenarios you have now? The AI already controls the enemies in SP campaign. So take both sides, divide up the units, if the US has 2 subs in a scenario, give each player one sub, if a Carrier and surface assets give one player the Carrier, and the other the surface fleet, if the scenario has land-based aircraft and a couple frigates give one player the air, the other the sea, and so on.

In the future, extra scenarios would be nice, but not needed now since the game has I think a couple dozen scenarios already?

Just use what you have now, add that team vision you mentioned, and your coop audience would have 24 or so missions ready to go.

Or, if you prefer take the MP scenarios you have now, and implement the AI the same way it works in SP games, so that any unfilled spots are filled by the AI, and the players can pick and choose from the remaining units what they will be playing.

I know it probably sounds a lot easier than it is, but Coop would extend the life of this game so much for my friends, and also the selling power of your title.

We'd need to split up the units between the coop'ing players, but yeah, not many scenario changes beyond that to add coop. We have some stuff to do on the engine itself, though, to share vision.

Sorry Jan, not trying to make more work for you, looks like you did an incredible job so far. It would add so much life to the game if my Air Force buddy could play Land-Based air assets (he doesn't like ships), and I could play my beloved Navy, another friend likes Cruisers, another one is a Sub junkie, etc.....The possibilities it would open up would be huge. People would be playing the scenarios over again just to try out the different units with their friends, adding to the replayability of the title.

GL and I hope you have a Great release day, you have all earned it, thanks so much to you and the Dev team for making this game a reality!

Not possible to chat during gameplay?
When 1 side wins the game just end, would be nice to be able to chat some after the game to.

Perhaps start an MP section where ppl can connect and schedule games etc
And add players on steam.
