Hi. Me and some non-pro friends have our own little EU2 MP group, and we're currently running a game where we actually tried to include some rules. Basically what I did was check the current and former games in this forum, and took some general ones. One of them was this:

Maximum THREE (3) provinces taken from a human in a war per alliance. Non-european provs count as 1/2, TPs count as 1/5, and CoTs as 2 provinces. After 1650 maximum of FIVE (5) provinces can be taken. After 1700, SEVEN (7) provinces, and after 1800 no peace restrictions.

What we've worked it as (even though we haven't really had the chance to do otherwise yet), is x provinces total exchanging hands, regardless of how many countries and from which. Now I'm thinking it makes more sense if it meant 3 provinces taken from each human. It just seemed to me that in a hypothetical 4v4 alliance war in 1636, a total of three full provinces exchanging hands seemed.. not very much.

Would be great if anyone could enlighten me before late Monday, which is when our next session starts :)

The rule is meant to prevent gang bangs of nations early on, but ofcourse in an even 4 vs. 4 it's very little.

Yeah, that's why I figured 3 per human (then 5, 7, etc) would be more reasonable. It would still mean that a 4v1 wouldn't end with the 'victim' wouldn't lose more than 3 provinces, while a 3v3 could actually mean something.

While I'm here, I might as well ask another question. We're considering allowing capitals to be moved at a considerable cost. I'm sure I've seen that be the case in some MP games on this forum, what do you reckon the cost should be?

Also, what are the effects on moving the capital? Is there any other effect than manpower and tax/production?

No but that's a major boost should you move the capital to say....China.

Well depends a bit on culture too.

Madness i would say. I remember seeing a game where Daniel played as Portugal and moved his capital to China after claiming cultures there, and he got a crazy boost on manpower.
