i'm not entirely sure anyone here will be able to answer. if he's logging on to vnet, and the game is closing out, there is either a problem with vnet, or his install.

EDIT: vnet is working fine for me, the game isn't closing on me. perhaps try a reinstall of vicky?

if the program is closing out, it isnt a connection issue, but rather a run-time error. probably an issue with installation as GM said. reinstall and report back if the problem persists

VNET goes down sometimes, so it may be just that your attempting to conect when the server is down. If that is the case, you can play via IP.

If that is not the case, then I'd say there is a router config problem.

If you connect to VNET, you'll find it vacant. This games does not have the online support as say WarIII. Or really, much suport at all. If your looking to get into an MP game then look futher in the thread this was moved to, the MP one. Most games are once per week and four hour sessions.

Hope this has been of help. =/

when vnet is down (which so far as i know it has been all weekend) then vicky freezes on trying to open a channel. This sometimes also takes the computer down

Technical problems with mp get moved in here, since 9 times in 10 the problem is to do with firewalls/connections etc... which is hardly surprising really, because ive not played a right lot of mp myself and already i know how to fix most the problems.

I have never seen the program close out though because of a firewall/connection issue. If the program is crashing to desktop, there is a larger problem here, ie runtime error. Reinstall

Yes it goes to my desktop,so your saying i should reinstall the game and see how to do it?Otherwise it might be connections with the ports.I tried to play two thrones and it didnt work either. So it might be connection problem.

What does your sister do on the computer? Its not uncommon that some people aren't all that knowledgeable about computers; her activities may be messing with something they shouldn't be. I'm just speculating though, she may be the computer geek of the family for all i know...

your internet connection is much superior to mine though, and you probably have a higher-spec system as well DK. I don't know Sacrament's system specs, but running MSN can sometimes cause problems with Windows not releasing the system resources and memory used by MSN, thereby affecting the playing of games. A restart before MP is advisable in my opinion anyway, just to make sure other programs that others might have run before he got on, are shut off before he plays. This is just my experience though, with Windows Millenium Edition... an OS that creates problems where none should exist...
