I refer to the standalone launcher (unrelated to steam).

Having 2.0..4 installed , i had lately many issues.
Constant yellow warning icon of not being able to download new version.
Settings or Imperator Rome , like resolution not saved,
stellaris freezes (for many years i never had stellaris freeze!)
and now i cant install the latest version.
$ sudo dpkg -i paradox-launcher-installer-2022_10.deb will freeze? in unpacking stage.
Now my installed laucher wont launch either and even steam initiated launcher started with a Database error regarding $home/.local/ParadoxInteractive/Stellaris/launcher-v2'.sqlite'

A lesser issue i have is with compatibility inconsistent info on stellaris mods
and a small wish: in launcher page would help a link to a issue discussion page.

And last , i find the laucher web page 's text confusing.
Log in and link your Paradox and Steam accounts together to get access to select games directly through Paradox. Already bought Crusader Kings III, Surviving Mars or Stellaris in the Paradox Store? Download our launcher and play
That is probable true only for the windows version.

ps: in steam generally i didnt have any issue with the launcher . it updated automaticaly , stellaris plays ok. But.. i prefer standalone launcher. Steam as a platform is saturated with ever-changing grab-eye-candy that constantly irritates me and has many restrictions.

Another night spent on trying to report issues ..
And while trying to make sense of a chaos that an installer brought to my system i got a response that
only Ubuntu is officially supported.
So i guess 'Linux' is a nickname of Ubuntu ? :(

I am waiting for a sincere and honest non steam paradox launcher update . You kwow ... simple stuff like requirements . supported systems . not breaking my dpkg database . supported games etc. Not just catchup vague remarks that create false expectations and create timesinks on reporting issues .

Ubuntu is the only version we support yes. As for Stellaris not updating, well, that's because Stellaris is no longer supported on the standalone launcher (and neither is HoI 4) so you'll never be able to get newer expansions or update it to the latest version.

I don't have much to tell you I'm afraid, the standalone launcher is a bit of a fickle beast at times, and since it sounds like you're running a Linux version we don't support it's possible this is the cause but I can't say for sure.
