Chris King

Yeh there were a few threads a while back when he came back to paradox as a game director but was not associated with any specific title. Considering he was a cornerstone of the vicky2 team, my consciousness has been increasing for quite some time.

Guys, if they were ever to do Vicky 3 they would have done it already, just like Rome.
Life is better once you accept that hard fact, believe me...
I'll accept the hard fact, if by 2018 nothing has been said about it. For now, it's still possible, HoI4 hasn't been out for a year yet and Vicky 2 was also the last of a generation (meaning after EU3 and HoI3)

Could new games be interpreted as Stellaris and HOI? As they are new and if you think it's a first time seen thing, could it be expansions as in MoH and Utopia?

Still I've been on the hype train for a new Vicky and Rome for awhile and it would be an awesome time for one or the other. Utopia and MoH should hold me for awhile even though I just finished sinking another couple hundred hours into EU4 but by the time I'm done with Utopia hopefully I'll be ready for more EU4 with MoH attached.

Imho, the window for the release of the only PDX game covering WWI is obviously tied to the centenary. November 2018 may be too late already, and I'd be surprised if they released a game in less than a year after having announced it, so no announcement yet means bad news for us...

It's not Victoria III silly people, it's obviously Victoria's Secret. Wiz's revolutionary grand strategy dating sim cross-over will be getting a demo at the convention.

Paradox will ultimately troll us all and present a brand new Stellaris: Star Stories Chronicles, an interactive fiction game full of microtransactions. :(

Thread says multiple new games, but where are they. Discounting DLC'S for present games, third party ones, & space games, when is a new historical strategy game from Paradox going to be announced.

Did you not read it? The pop up for pdx con says games not game

Well, the Christopher King profile on LinkedIn does have some interesting things one it. Game Director since June 2016. And Vicky was always Chris Kings baby. So something is up.

I remember reading something about him being bat at Paradox about a year ago. Could mean that Vicky 3 has been in development for about a year and is ready for announcement, or I could just be setting myself up for disappointment.

well, Stellaris was announced back in September 2015, I think, and was released 8 months later, in May 2016. Someone said this was related to the delays of HOI4, i.e. PDS decided to make sure a game was entering the final stages of development before telling everyone about it. Depending on where they are in development, this game could be released around Christmas or early 2018.

Just posting my hope for a Vicky3. Would also take a Rome2, easily. But do Vicy3 first!!!!!!!!!!
The shitstorm that'll erupt on this forum if they don't announce Vicky3 will be massive. They'll have to lock down the entire forum, Bioware-style. :D

No, they won't. Any such "storm" would be met with multiple hits with the banhammer.
You're making the mistake of taking my statement at face value. ;)
