Multiple simultaneous superfantastic COT's

Just kind of a thing that happened to me a while back.

I was hacking the gc inc file.

I accidentally put down two different trade centers, but they were both in CONSTANTINOPOLE.

Surprisingly no freeze, no crash. Worked fine. I think I could only access one of them, and the area around Turkey was a mix of the two different COTs.

I hope this is useful to someone, or inspires some creativity.

Had that too, accidentally edited 2 COTs in Alexandria. Couldn't use it for anything though.

I bet the auto merchant would still send merchants to it. You can't place them manually because the game doesn't allow that kind of selection. It's too unrealistic I think to use.

Are the COTs that appear outside Europe predestined or is there some random or systematic assignment as to where they appear?

I got so very lucky is why I ask.

You see, I was Venice and had colonized Jamaica and within a year a new COT opened there with a value of 500 and I had a monopoly with no competition. Then after some 80 years or so I made it to Formosa (Taiwan) and again I settled there and a new COT opened there as well! You know that COT in China that is worth like 1300? Well, you would be amazed what happened! The Formosa COT I owned balooned to 2500 and the China COT fell in value to 300! What is with that?!

I mean, I hit the jackpot there! I had another monopoly and was pulling tons of ducats from this COT which was just a year old and the former richest COT on the planet becomes just middling in value.

Can someone explain this?

Some provinces have a very high historical modifier for getting a new COT (listed in province.csv). Like Taiwan, Goa and so on. Build a city there and u have a very high chance ...
