I have moved around my files so I have them all in the same folder (e.g. not splited into paradox interactive and paradox entertament). I have moved the folders of CK and EUII and now the music for EUII don't work. It is just EUII and just the music so the other sounds is fine (what do you call it, sfx?). Why is it like this. The music folder is still there and the music is playable on windows media player.

Try the registery entries first, fix the path in them.

I don't understand what you say. the languages I know is swedish english and a little german. ;)
Now explain it again as if it was for a four year old

Start menu - then select "RUN" - Then type Regedit, then hit enter.
and navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Paradox Entertainment
Then the EU2 folder, look for the path command and change it to the new path.

If you do not understand the above then do not do it, messing with the registry can mess your system up if you do something wrong.

What you can do is wipe the game from your system, you will have to manually uninstall since you moved the folders around, or move them back to where they should be and uninstall. Then reinstall and select the new folder you want to play the game from. If you do decide to manually uninstall the step by step instructions can be found in the self help guide sticky thread.

Except you will not be able to patch the game and some mods will not work either.

But point taken about the need to change the paths in that file as well, although the reinstall option fixes that as well.

I tested the both variants and the first didn't work but the second did. However, I got scared about that I wouln't be able to patch so I restored everything and moved a copy of the music file to it's original position but nothing else. (worked)
Will I still be unable to patch?

If you did not fix the registry then you will not be able to apply anymore patches.

However if you are already on 1.9 then you should be fine.
If another patch is released worry about it then, as you will just have to follow the instructions give here about manually uninstalling and then reinstall and apply the latest patch.

One never knows.
