Hey there - I wanted to make a music mod for Imperator: Rome but after taking a look at the files required to trigger audio, the process for modding it looks... different compared to CK2's + EUIV's to the point that I don't know if it's possible. Does anyone know if it's possible to mod the music for Imperator: Rome? If so, how exactly?

I've managed to extract the music from the FMOD bank files using the attached tool. Theoretically you should be able to add assets to the bank and repack it with this tool as well, although I haven't tested that.

It works! Thank you xyloz, for sending me that tool!
Can you tell me what did you do? Do I just put my music files in the BANK and be done with it?

I tried to rebuild the bank file with new song but the tool tells methis version is not tested with windows 10 and keep running without rebuilding the file.

Thank you for any help

Excellent, does this mean we can expect to see a music mod from you soon then Jinzor because although there are two awesome music mods out already all the other modders can work out how to do so far is replace the original IR soundtrack with another one rather than build on the existing soundtrack by adding new music to it :)

One of the two music mods you alluded to on the Steam workshop was mine (Total War: ROME II Soundtrack mod) - my Steam name is Benjin.

As of now, there is no known way to implement new music without replacing, hopefully in the future this will change.

So I will have to completly remove the vanilla music and stick my own music? Does the size of the music matters?

Ok, looking at your mod I can see that I would have to replace the dlc music as well?

EDIT: I can't seem to make the tools work at all. It shows a black box with "Qt: Untested Windows version 10.0 detected!" How did you do it Jinzor?

Ok I got it to work. It needs to be 16bit WAV and you have to put it in the Music Folder. The text file must have all of your files typed in before you start the program. If you are getting a black box without anything then check that you put the right extension in it. Once you done that then you edit the Music.txt file from the game to allow it to appear in-game.* Right now you cannot add to the current soundtrack, only replace them completly.

* It seems that you don't have to do this according to music mods on the workshop.

Make sure that your songs are long as it will take 1 minute to load the next one. I'm not sure why. Until we get more information about the banks we just have to deal with it.
