Must I still save & reload after ascending to a higher title?

I have read on the forums that whenever you get a higher title (like ascending to King of Sweden via Elective Law) you have to save & reload.
I have patch 1.05 installed, is this still necessary or has that bug been taken care of?

It's not only when you get a higher title, but whenever you change your primary title. So if you are a King and lose your title in a war and are downgraded to a Duke, you also have to save and reload.

This bug will probably never be taken care of.

It must indeed be buried very deeply because there is still the same problem in EU2 when you change tag (CAS -> SPA or BRA -> PRU), and this after nine patches.

It is buried very deeply in the code, not possible to be fixed.
 
The annoying thing is if you are playing multiplayer.
Play with 4 people and you will get this at least 8 times.
And since it is not possible to deactivate the slow compression which is not needed at lan games anyway the loading takes quite a time. Sure I could copy the save games manually but that is not really smooth.

At least you can exploit this bug a bit. ;)
