Description​

My vassal, Duchess Marathe of Edessa inherits the county of Meroe when her maternal grand mother, the Queen of Nubia, dies. She then suddenly becomes the vassal of the new King of Nubia

Steps to reproduce​

Load up the save, what for a few months for the Queen of Nubia to die, then the Duchess of Edessa somehoew ditches my kingdom of Assyria, and the Byzantine Empire to join Nubia.

Hello there! This has probably happened because of succession laws, we will need to raise the issue with developers, but its possible that this is by design.

I remember it being designed for if they inherit a higher title, but she is already a duchess in her own right, and is inheriting a county. I just checked, but Nubia doesn't have crown Authority 3.

I believe the design is as follows:

1. If a vassal inherits a higher tier title from outside the realm (higher tier than their currently held title) then by design they should become the vassal of the liege of the inherited title's previous holder's liege.
2. If the vassal inherits a lower tier title then they should bring that into this realm.

So what the OP is describing seems like against intended design.
