  • Imperator: Rome Sign Up
Soooo, yeah, something tells me Im not even making this in the right forum (If so, please inform me so that I don't get banned), but here goes. With alt history forum seemingly dying, I had an idea to do a bit of RP here.

Setting-
200, BCE, the year the Hannibal WON the second Punic war. In 203, despite the situation getting desperate, Hannibal continued his conquests in Italy, eventually reaching Rome's doorstep, and razing it to the ground, soon, Macedonia, Carthage's ally to the east, launched their own campaign, with very similar results, within three years, Rome fell.

To the east, conflict between Thrace and the Macedonians has spilled over, as they continue to dispute over Byzantion, the valuable trade city to near Anatolia.

In an effort to protect against these two grand empires, the Greek states to the south have formed their own league for protection. Perhaps this might lead to a united Hellas?

The Greeks of Magna Graecia have taken this opportunity to declare their own independence, and are now backed by Epirus. Now, Carthage has its own "Pyrrhic War" to deal with.

And lastly, an age old rivalry, dating back to the first civilizations to ever exist, Egypt, and the Kushic empire. The Ptolemies, like the Pharaohs before them, have deigned to declare war on The Nubians. If history is a precedent, then Egypt will reign victorious, but the Kush are strong,... and imaginative.

In this RP, you will play as a person, NOT a COUNTRY. Meaning don't die. The playable countries are as follors

kFQrVzo.png

Hannibal(Carthage) - Against All odds, this famous man gained victory after victory in the Punic War, winning great glory, and a leadership position governing now Iberia and all Mediterranean and Italian provinces. This man has an army at his disposal with undying loyalty to him, but he faces dark times ahead, his empire has fallen apart while the ink was still wet on his peace treaty, and he has decided to release Syracuse as a vassal to ensure they do not revolt. War with Magna Graecia and Epirus will not be easy.

Scipio Africanus(Rome) - Defeated, but not destroyed, Scipio, who has now been elected consul of Rome, is in a precarious position. He has lost an ally in Massilia, and now suffers a broken empire. He may chose to take advantage of the conflict in south Italy, but it is doubtful that the Greeks their would be any more receptive him than they are of Hannibal. From the ashes, Rome shall rise!

For these, I want you guys to make up your own backstory
-Macedonia
-Thracia
-League of Tyche
-Egypt
-Kush
-Magna Graecia
-Syracuse
-Massilia
-Epirus

I Honestly don't know how this will turn out, so if have any suggestions, please comment

Sincerely
Ya BOII

I was thinking of reestablishing Gloria. As for extra. You can join my RolePlay

Sergius Aegypti(Egypt)- A Jew decided enough was enough. He led a revolt and unthroned Ptolemy IV. He took up the name Leo I. He even got married to Laodice IV, Princess of Selecuid dynasty. He would have a hard time with Hannibal in the west , Ptolemite loyalists in Egypt and Selecuids in the East. However the Khushite would be a power to crush. 'Together for Pax Aegyptia'!

Where are the celts? ... ok fine...

Amatokos (Trace) invited the Roman Consule to his Capital of Byzanz to make him an offer he might not reject. Reminded of the times of Troy, and their hate for the macedonian, who betrayed their former ally 1000 of years ago and of the mythology that Rome is the decentent of Troy, the Tracian king feels the need to help them. Also his spies told him about, that no carthagian assistence is coming for the barbarians of macedonia, he is willing to take his chance. His speach will be short and effective.

"Dear civilized friend, we heard how the barbarians try to destroy the civilization. If Rome helps us with the barbarians before our doorsteps, we will speak up as greek, as civilized tribe to all civilized greek to join our conquenst against this punic barbarians. You will need friends in this dark and barbaric times, my roman friend."

(Roll the dice GM, lets see if Scipio accepts.)

NON-RPG:

Even that this is ALT history, you never stated that the greek would change and see non-latin speakers as civilized, so I assume they still call them barbarians. A unification against barbarians is very likely even for the devided greece, and you did not change it in your ruleset, so I suggest a probe-3. What you think? :)
