Hmm, is it possible to edit which features a specific culture will use? For example, if I create a custom "ninja" culture, can I choose dark_fem_misc.bmp as the source for male clothing, but letting the sources for the other features remain testface_x?

The potential ninja would be sterilized, so his culture would not pass on.
Not possible. That is hardcoded...

Too bad. Ah well, thanks for the very swift replies :)

I'm getting in to this picture moding now, and If I understand correctly it is like this:

The first 2 numbers determines head, and out of the ten Heads of males it goes

0 for the first(or 00?) and then 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09?

Then when I decide ears I start counting from 00 again?
so I take head 01, then take ear pair 03 the code should look like this:
0103

And then I countinue to build on it? or?

After playing the ICOCK DNA scenario I generated and examining a sampling of the second generation, it appears that for each gene there's an equal chance of inheriting either than mother or the father's genotype, with a small chance of a random mutation. I didn't do a statistical analysis to determine said small chance.

Interesting...
I haven't had time to work on this lately, and only recently got CK back up and running after a corrupt installation was driving me bonkers and causing the game to be unplayable.

I actually have done a LOT of work with determining the exact statistical distribution, guys, but Pleonast has fallen off the edge of the world, so unless someone knows how to code a program that will lookup every stat in the game and give me a count of how many 1s appear, 2s appear, et cetera... I can't do anything else.

Above is a program, use to "test" DNA,
just extract the executable to "gfx\portrait".
The program along with its source code can be found in http://www.geocities.com/musttrynot/index.htm

Holy crap! My thread lives!
And that program looks pretty sleek dude, I'll have to try it out... once the new patch comes out cause the current one = crashy mcpants.

Oh HO... so the game DOESN'T track inbreeding by genetic similarity, it tracks it by familial association! Excellent!

It only checks oif they have the same last name... and AFAIK then its only a chance that they will be inbred. So its much harder to have a situation where your heir gets to be indbred because Louis Capet marries Margot de Bourgogne, his cousin, as they have two distinct last names
