So just like Vanillia, my first game was as CZE (for sentamental reasons, plus I like to play CZE when I'm inexperienced... since she is at the middle of so much early on). I was very impressed. I loved the way that the Czech economy is weak, and its very hard to balance military production, IC growth, and research.

The Munich events were a lot of fun to watch, although I was a little sad I wasn't given the option to tell everyone to go to hell after the Treaty of Munich. Interestingly though, after Tiso became Hitler's whipping boy and I refused to bow to thier demands... the Russians DOW'ed on Germany. Way to go Stalin! No Poland-Splitting for you!

Anyway, shortly thereafter, (even though I got a popup saying France and UK were not going to help) UK DOW'ed Germany too, and now its 1939 and WWII is in full swing (in Europe anyway). So now Germany and Russia are fighting, and while the Netherlands went quick, Denmark, Belgium and France are untouched.

Of course CZE fell fast, and now I'm watching as Switzerland.

Question: Will this alteration of event severly hamper future CORE events? Or are there other cool things that might happen with a early SOV / UK / FRANCE vs. GERMANY game?

Anyway... thanks CORE... you guys rock!

Well, we've been tweaking that Munich chain for weeks, so what would you expect? ;)

BTW: Am I correct in assuming you're playing version 0.20 instead of 0.22, as the Dutch apparently got into the action? That should be fixed in 0.22...

As for the effect on future events: the main effort so far has been on event scripting pre-war. But in CORE all alternative outcomes should have an effect on future events as well.

There are variants of the chain where CZE can, actually, tell everyone to go to hell, but you need a certain amount of French (I believe) intervention/resistance - which is a rather unlikely event in itself.

The British DOW on Germany, despite the event, is because of how the game-engine works and not related to the event at all. I don't know how to counter it, but a hint of isolationism might do the trick (or not). I'll have to bring that up with our AI guys and see if we can influence.

Glad you liked the game. You should try a game as Italy and stand up against Germany for Austria's sake. :) It's a toughie, but it can be done.

Well for the record, I am playing 0.22 The Dutch are actually not involved in the current war (I think).

Regarding the UKs DOW... I figured it was because the AI 'wanted' to, as opposed to what the event 'wanted'. The only comment I have about it is that I got the "We're not getting involved" AFTER they DOW'ed Germany.

Regardless... CORE is cool.

Things were pretty quiet event-wise from then on. Although I did get Germany's desperate messure, but I'm not sure what that does.

Russia and Germany fought a pretty back-and-forth battle in Eastern Europe until late '43 when the balance seemed to tip to Russia's favor. War never broke out in the Pacific, and the US never got involved in the war. Japan has most of Mainland China... but doesn't seem to anxious to complete the job.

Early '44 France actually attacked Western Germany (nice change for those cheese eating surrender monkeys)... and by mid-'44 Germany was divided between France and Russia.

Small question/problem? What does it take for Germany to surrender? Hungary switched sides, Romania is okay, but not doing very well, and Germany's only province left is Essen. France seems reluctant to attack Essen... so there has been a stalemate for the last 9 months.

Surrender events are still 1.3, they still need to be done.

desperate meassures improves the capebilities for the Germans to defend themself (more TC etc.)
