Started (And finnished) my first game last night. Started without reading past the initial tutorial in the manual. (Have since read the entire thing, and done much poking around here for further clarifications). (Also patched the game to 1.05c... was at 1.02 US out of box)
January 1st, 1936. I took control of the mighty nation of Nepal. (This decision made in shock. I saw the flags said right click to change nation... I assumed this meant select that nation... then saw the list with ALL nations...so took Nepal, knowing it is small, has nearly no GDP, and it's military (Hell, I didn't know they HAD a military...) At noon, on January 1st (took a second to pause...) The order was given. The mighty Nepalese army, 3 divisions strong, was to march on their evil neighbors... Katmandu would be crushed. The great battle of the Himalayans was soon to begin.
The Nepalese army (Sherpas, Yetti, and the rest) took some time getting themselves organized. (Have you ever tried to march 3 divisions across the roof of the world?) It was 3 days before they began to move. New territory was greatly needed, as only 1 province had any sort of production, and it was barely enough to sustain, let alone expand, the country.
So, the army set out to kill for their nations future. The government (oddly enough, everyone had the same name.... shadowy no one, or something like that) sent Katmandu the news of their pending doom.
The army crossed the border at 4pm, January 5th. And then it happened. The situation was SO absurd, that the computer crashed to desktop. (Much as any historian would at the mere consideration of such a situations plausibility.)
(Ok, or maybee because I had not bothered to get the latest patch....) And with that, the great battle of the Himilayans was over. In their pause, the Yetti' rebelled, and ate the rest of teh army, and then dispersed. Several have been sighted by various mountain climbers, and one is rumored to be living in the swamps of the South Eastern United States. There is a reward of 1 mountain goat, and a rock from the Nepalese Head of State for his delivery to their military justice system.
(Edit.... Umm... I meant I was Tibet.
I had been awake for 40 some hours when I typed that.... and the facts got blurred in the haze.. I INVADED Nepal... (Home of the ghurkha... what WAS I thinking...
