First, you should know that EU 2 is slower than EU 1.
If you still think it is too slow, try the following:
1- Defragment your hard drive.
2- Turn the music off. The music is in MP3 format and it can consume more resources than regular midi files.
3- Go to the Start menu, Run, type "msconfig" go to startup, uncheck everything, click ok, reboot, start the game, see if it makes any differences. If it does, repeat the process and recheck one item at the time until you find the culprit.
4- Buy more memory. The game require 64mb minimum, but 128 are recommended. If you only have 64mb, I would suggest you upgrade right away to 256mb RAM or beyond.
5- Upgrade your sound card to a recent one who has a dedicated processor for MP3.
6- If you have Windows ME, reduce the size of your System restore (control panel, system, performance, file system) to minimum.
7- Go trough the "Running problems" thread, some suggestions could be useful to you.
