Well, to be exact he wasn't my marshall yet. The guy was the result of six generations of court inter-breedings, he was just sixteen when he suddendly became archbishop of Krakow and vassal to the King of Poland. Since I was papal-controller, this could seem perfectly normal.
Now here's the weird part of it:
1) he had a martial education.
2) he hadn't finished his education when he got the title (he became a brilliant strategist just after...)
I thought that only men with their ecclesiastical education done could get bishoprics (they're the only one you can grant such titles to, after all). So how comes this military man is now an archbishop?

It's because the inheritance of bishopries and most of papal stuff is in general screwed in Crusader Kings. Most of this stuff has been reported on numerous occasions.

Sorry about that then...

No prob, if only I had the time to keep an up-to-date buglist:)

Anyways, there is a search function and it functions. You should use it next time and comment on an existing thread, when the bugs are pointed out to developers only the initial one is linked for them so the rest become more or less worthless.
