My newly installed Doomsday crash when loading

Hi

I have dowloaded doomsday today and instelled this, updated with service pack.

When i try to load the game i can se the video, if i press space to exit the video the loading stops.
If i se the whole intro video the game starts to load and gets around 50% before i heare som strange sound and the game crashes.

Where should i start to find the fault, i have direct x 9.xxx
 
find the AVI sub folder (located in the folder you installed DD to) and rename it to AVI_back

Hi

I have tryed to rename now, same fault. Game starts to load but strange sound and then crash.

Just some feedback, you got some briliant games like HOL but i always have trouble with instalation of them. I play other games whitout any problems.
 
Please run a DirectX Diagnostic:
Start menu –Run - then type Dxdiag, then select each tab across the top of the window, and run the tests on each tab. Then select “Save All Information” button in the lower right of the window. This will bring up a dialog box to allow you to select a name for the file where the information will be saved. You can save it right on the desktop as this will make it easy to find. Then copy the contents of that file from the start to the heading that says “DirectX components” then paste what you have copied into a post in this thread.

The only thing that jumps oput at me is the lack of free space on your C: drive.
Id that where your Virtual memory is?

And you do not get any kind of error message?
Does the system lock up and you have to hit the power button?
Or does it just freeze the game screen and you can Ctrl-Alt-Del and close it?

Hi

I have now 5 Gb free space on C:

There is no error message, the system works fine afterwoods. No problems.

If i try to start the game again whithin 10 sec after the last crash i get "hol2 has encounted problems" send, dont send. This is HOL2.exe
 
I hate to ask but could you try installing the game again?
 
Okay rename the AVI subfolder to AVI_back and the Music Folder to Music_bak
And if you have a sound folder rename it to Sound_bak
 
So looks like a problem with the sound card.
Do you mabe have something running in the background that uses the sound card?

I have some sound, like "beep" when a new tec or similare.

I have played 3 times now and its somthing wrong, im USA and in 1939 Germany surender !! the 2 next games im in 1941 and there is no war !! Not france, not UK, not Germany.
Where is the war ??

Im winning whitout a single combat.

Game is on normal
 
More with the music ability rather than sound effects.

Hi

Im now playing the 5th game and germany is not soweak now, i got my war.
i play as USA and every time i got weak germany i started to not build any new units and i disbanded most of my units. I tryed to improve tecs and build many new facotories. It lookd like this lead to weak germany and no war.

Any commennts on this ?
