Hope this helps someone who is having crash issues.

I run CKII on the following system:
ASRock Extreme 770 chipset AMD
AMD Phenom II 965 Blk.Edition @3.4GHZ
16G DDR3-1600MHZ RAM
EVGA-NVidia 560GTX Video

I was having crash issues after I'd run the game for 5-20mins.
Sometimes BSD. Sometimes lockup. Sometimes it rebooted my PC! :blink:
50% of the time I had to use task manager to exit as well.

Reading this support forum clued me in to some 3D settings.
Go to your NVidia Control panel and try the following custom game settings for CK2:

Note the "Vertical Sync" should be "on" which if you have your NVidia card on default settings will be off otherwise.
The other items I set worked best for me.

ALL my crashes ceased after this group of settings.
 
Yes, this ties into some of the excessive fps rates and temperatures we've seen with some players.
