My pops just disappear for no reason. I'm playing the new Wilderness origin. The jobs are all full, and the next moment, almost all of them are empty. Is this a bug or a game mechanic I'm missing?

Biomass is pops!

Using it all up colonizing planets or constructing buildings will quickly run you out of the ability to work jobs. I've been trying to avoid dropping under 1k biomass just to be safe.
I've got plenty biomass but the pops are just sitting around as goo not doing anything and my empire is dying

The only thing I can think of that could've broken the logic is that I accepted the Hive Mind Fallen Empires request to take 100 pops to be forcefully integrated. Seeing as death would've been the alternative I had to accept. I think its plausible that this was the trigger but I only noticed my economy had crashed some time later

It's not a fallen empire thing, as I'm doing a Wilderness run without any FE's, and I'm still occasionally having one or more planets with missing menial pops even with over 200 biomass pops on the planet. Moving pops sometimes helps, but sometimes doesn't. I'm thinking anywhere from 100 to 400 biomass per planet is a minimum I don't want to go below.
