I have been running this game from 867 to about the mid 1200s. I own most of the world, Fuedal, and hold every Baronry level and up title in my realm. Shortly after converting to Fuedal, everything started lagging bad. That's to be expected. The problem is I tried to reload into it, and it just didn't do it. I said fuck it, went to sleep after a few hours of waiting and woke up to it loaded. Sweet! I can get this done. Almost a decade later it crashes. Still taking hours to load in. However, it doesn't seem as if it should take nearly this long. I've tried verifying cache, loading other saves to see if they had the same issue (they didn't), reinstalling the game. Nothing seems to work. I've been trying so damn hard to get two more achievements from this run, (the one for going 867-end and the one for having 10 dynasts on different independent thrones), and if there's anything to be done, I would really appreciate some help

There is your problem I think. The game simply cannot cope with huge world-spanning empires, in particular the number of units on map when there's a civil war or massive rebellions. Aside from editing the save file to delete excessive units there is really nothing that can be done, I'm sorry. It would take a rewrite of the entire game, but as CK3 has just been announced that is just not going to happen.
I'm guessing if I edit out my own troops (there are no revolts and no civil wars, since I have no vassals and all the spots in the world are my culture + religion) it'll invalidate the save for Ironman?
Sorry, I missed it was ironman. I don't believe it can be edited at all, as they are encrypted.
