TRAFFIC
It is litterally ridiculous to have traffic issues on a part of the motorway and at the other end of the 81 tiles city, the crematorium cannot collect one dead person from the building opposite or next to it, Police cannot get to a crime scene and all that with empty roads at that end.
Let alone that yesterday, I followed a hearse who drove by 3 buildings with dead people issues, was only 60% full and didn't stop to collect!
- MAKE traffic issues more localised and introduce low and high traffic hours, even for us who don't play the day-night cycle.
- Make card more flexible for lanes changing.
- Correct the bug where cars stop in the middle of a 3-6 lanes avenue for no apparent reason and increase traffic.
ROADS and ROUNDABOUTS
We should be able to custom-design roads, from lanes number, to tarmac colouration, arrows like any engineering company does around the world.
- Improve the connection capability of the game when it comes to connect different types and size of roads, and exits to the motorway with better geometry, so that we can use a perfect arc, instead of unrealistic spaghetti-style curves.
- Correct the railway lines connections that look like earth-worms
- We shoud be able to set speed limits per road style and size. Then, if we want to change in one neighborhood, we could do it individually.
- Roundabouts in real life are very customisable, in the game they should be too without deforming.
- Introduce a tool like compass and ruler for designing roads, roundabouts and railways, like engineers would do in real life.
- Introduce a tool (there was such a MOD) to smoothen the curve and allign the nods on all types of networks.
MODs
People create MODs because the game lacks the function they cover. But MODs expire, can be unreliable and mess the UX. So, I'm wondering why CO don't consider to embed the most used MODs in the game as a permanent feature?
BRUSH TOOL
Create a brush tool for:
- Painting trees, grass and bushes in parks
- Bulldozing large surfaces of roads and buildings
- For installing water pipes
NEW FEATURES
- Increase the variety and number of buildings, train stations, services etc in the vanilla game, as it becomes very dull after a while and all cities look the same
- Introduce different sizes of airports
- Introduce different size railway and cargo stations that can handle different size of load
- Give us the capability to create outside connections by roads building, after we have reached the maximum limit of city
CITY PLANNING
Whenever I am trying to visualise an new road layout, I need to actually lay dirt roads (the cheapest) and hope I'll rememeber the rest of the new-to-be settings, like e.g. where I might want to use one-way roads, or put a park etc.
- A new feature that will allow an extra layer on the map to create drought sketchesof future road arteries and changes for the existing ones
- This layer won't be playable and it should have an ON/OFF function
- When OFF, the layer will be invisible
- When ON, it will come with sketch tools, like a pen, marker, a colour pallette, an arrows pallette, shapes pallette (squares, rounds etc for top map views), so that the city planner can put down what they visualise for the future changes and additions of their city.
