We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
They were gnostic not sunni or shiite. The portuguese even thought they were catholic. 
But later found out that was not the truth. Personally in my own mod i got them as protestants. but I think hindu is just to show the difference.

Ahhh, as a gnostic myself, i would have them as buddhist, as a quote says about us:
"Catholic on the outside, Buddhist on the inside. Quotes a lot of dead Greek guys"
