In 1084, Stjepan's on Aldimir finished military education and became a knowledgable tactitian. Cruel, energetic and valorous, he was a typical example of a middleage nobleman. His wife Klementia was also always ready to support fight against nonbelievers.
On 19th November 1085, Stjepan Nemanjic (1039 - 1085) died old, and 17 year old Aldimir became the new count of Naissus. He got the bad news while fighting in Adrianopolis in service of the Emperor. During his stay in Naisssus in 1086, he got a daughter Jadviga and appointed Gryd Lazarevic, a wise tactitian, to be a new marshal. Old and more and more experienced steward Petar Mrnjavcevic continued to serve the court faithfully. However, in February 1087, bad new again reached count Aldimir, continuing the Adrianopolis campaign. His wife Klementia died in labour and child was lost too.
Having a clear decision to secure new territories for his dinasty, Altimir married with Klementia's younger sister Wulfride von Zaehringen on 10th October 1088.
In 1089, old and prestigious steward Petar died. His position was held by anonimous noblemen until Aldimir's daughter Jadviga finished her education and turned out to be midas touched in 1102. In order to keep Jadviga on the court, she was married to Gryd Lazarevi, giving him son Radislav.
In 1091, Aldimir's brother Mihajlo, brilliant strategist and new marshal in the county, was after long negotiations with Dmitar Zvonimir duke of Slavonia, married to Hiciela Trpimirovic, Dmitar's only child.
However, although Mihajlo and Hiciela got a strong and beautiful baby Damjan in 1096, Hiciela's father Dmitar was not fond of giving his provinces to Nemanjic family. He changed the succession law to Salic Primogeniture in order to secure that his nephew, Ljudevit Trpimirovic become a new duke of Slavonia.
The only hope for expanding Nemanjic real was Aldimir's son Smilec, born on 4th. October 1091. Contrary to his lazy father Stjepan, count Aldimir (whenever he had time between several military campaigns serving the Emperor) took an active role in uprising his son Smilec. He encouraged him to freely fight with other kids, sent him to monastery to develop his intruige skills and talk with him a lot about heathens and unbelievers. Smilec turned to be similar to his father: cruel, proud and zealous.
Finally, on 22nd February 1103, Smilec Nemanjic inherited his grandfather Herman duke of Kaerten and Verona. Domain with 4 vassals, 3 of them were somehow dissloyal.
Both Aldimir and his brother Mihajlo got several more kids, daughters and son, some of them bastards, but most of them had poor health and died while babies. Such a cruel destiny affected brother Mihajlo a lot, pushing him into a severe depression. His only surviving son Damjan showed talent for all disciplines and was kept in the court to continue his education.
