So in my playthroughs I like to give third/fourth sons (who have almost no chance of inheriting the main title) a wife from a prestigious house (or a fourth son from a lesser house and a wife from my own) and a landed title and then I save edit to make them a cadet branch, with the name and sigil a combination of the parent house and the wife's house. Having trouble coming up with names though so if anyone has any ideas for my next Targaryen playthrough please do let me know. I have some so far:

Targaryen+Stark = Whitewolf
Targaryen+Arryn = Wingflame
Targaryen+Hightower = ?
Targaryen+Velaryon = ?
Targaryen+Blackwood = Fyretree
Targaryen+Darry = ?
Targaryen+Lannister = Goldfyre
Targaryen+Reyne = ?
Targaryen+Dayne = ?
Targaryen+whoever =

If you have any other house combination feel free to add a comment

Targaryen+Hightower = Brightower, Flametower, Bloodtower
Isn't Brightwater the lands of the Florents? Welp, can't have them around with that first name, it's too good a match.

Targaryen+Velaryon = Seawyrm, Bloodsea or maybe merge the two auspicious and ancient valyrian houses? Velargaryen?
Take some inspiration from Corlys the "Sea Snake" and hug the leg of the lady with dragons - i.e. Dany

Targaryen+Darry = Bloodplow - lol that one seems non-consensual there - Dargaryen, Plowgaryen - am creative on these ones
*insert more farm equipment names*garyen

Targaryen+Reyne = Redflame, Bloodreyne.
RAWR! am rewd wion and dragoon nows lanny bois! Muh claws big and sharperested, and bweath fyre! NYAN!

Targaryen+Dayne = Dawnfyre, Starfyre, Bloodstar.
I've been putting blood into the mix because it's the Targaryen main motto ya know. furye and bluud. Seriously though, I've always felt the coalition between Daynes and the Targs is best. Played it out too many times, and I might just do so again.

Targaryen+Martel = Sunwyrm, Bloodsun - like the card from magic the gathering, but edgier because agot. Flamespear or Fyrespear or Bloodspear etc.
Them Dornish folks do love them a nice spear as long as its unbent, unbowed, and not broke ofc. They dig the BBS.

Hm... I'm bad at this, but let me give it a shot:

Targaryen+Hightower = Dragontower, Blacktower/Redtower, Fyrehouse (as in light house, but... made of fire...)
Targaryen+Velaryon = Seadragon
Targaryen+Blackwood = Flamingheart, Blackdragon, Ravenscale
Targaryen+Darry = Burningfield, Dragonplow
Targaryen+Reyne = Mantycore (a dragon + a lion)?
Targaryen+Dayne = Dragonstar, Shootingflame, Starscale

I... I said I was bad at this.

At least for me it would also really come down to the actual character acting as the progenitor for said cadet branch. For example, a Targaryen and Velaryon offspring who happens to really like killing people/battle I might go with House Redtide or Redshore vs. a character with a more generic union name like Blackshore or Dragontide.

Could also toss in a name structure like the Karstarks, with the name of their main holding being included too.

Besides that I'll throw down some other possible name ideas.

Targ.+Stark = Blackhearth (hearth like in fireplace), Blackwolf, Whitescale

Targ.+ Arryn= Blackbird (see a pattern? lol), Moondrake

Targ.+ Hightower= Darktower, Oldwyrm (for Oldtown), Dragonpost

Targ.+Blackwood = Dragonwood, Bloodraven (if the original one isn't around yet), Blacktalon

Targ.+Darry = Fieldwyrm, Riverwyrm, Blackfield/Redfield

Targ.+Lannister = Goldwing, Rockwyrm (Casterly Rock), Blacklion

Can't guarantee they're all great, but here are a few suggestion

Targaryen+Stark = Icefyre (Because Cold North and Dragon... Also as a meta joke), Northwyrm, Winterflame, Snowdrake

Targaryen+Arryn = Moondrake, Valefyre, Firewing

Targaryen+Tully = Riverdrake, Fyretroot (Not great... But not the greatest sigil either)

Targaryen+Greyjoy = Irondrake, Fyrekraken

Targaryen+Tyrell = Burningrose, Dragonseed, Roseflare

Targaryen+Lannister = Goldfyre, Flamingroar

Targaryen+Baratheon = Stormfyre, Bloodfury (Mixing "Fire and Blood" with "Ours is the Fury")

Targaryen+Martell = Sunfyre, Spearflame

Targaryen+Hightower = Lightfyre ("Fire and Blood" with "We Light the Way"), Brightflame (though don't go for an Aerion...)

Targaryen+Velaryon = Seadrake, Tidalflame, Dragonblood (Because both are descended from Valyria)

Targaryen+Celtigar = Fyrecrab, Dragonclaw (because the seat of House Celtigar is Claw Isle)

Targaryen+Blackwood = Bloodraven (if you have a Brynden), Ravenflame, Fyretree

Targaryen+Bracken = Bittersteel (if you have an Aegor), Fyrestalion, Dragonmare (A bit of a play on words with this one)

Targaryen+Dayne = Starfyre (Meta joke), Dragonsword, Dawnflame

Targaryen+Stark = Coldfyre

Targaryen+Arryn = Targarryn

Targaryen+Hightower = Brightlight, Fyrelight

Targaryen+Velaryon = Seadragon

Targaryen+Blackwood = Dragonwood

Targaryen+Darry = Darryen

Targaryen+Lannister = Greatcoin (Gold dragons are the highest tier currency in Westoros)

Targaryen+Reyne = Redd (A red dragon and a red lion. Sometimes one syllable house names work, no?)

Targaryen+Dayne = Morningflame

Targaryen+Forrester = Dragonwood, Ironblood (Mixed their words to get this. "Fire and Blood" and "Iron from Ice")

Targaryen+Seaworth = Seadragon, Bloodonion, Fyreworth

Targaryen+Sunglass = Sunfyre, Dragonglass

Targaryen + Wylde = Wyldewyrm

Targaryen+Fell = Felldragon (Fire Emblem reference for any fans of those games)
