Princedom of Gwynedd
Kingdom of Poland
Princedom of Morgannwg
Kingdom of Mide
Basileus of Byzantium
Kingdom of Uladh
County of Osterreich
Kingdom of Galicia
Duchy of Uberlothringen
Duchy of Niederlothringen
County of Burgundy
County of Provence
Kingdom of Sverige
Duchy of Franken
Grand Princedom of Rus
Kingdom of Norge
Kingdom of Scotland

I don't know about that....

I think the "authentic" names for the different kingdoms/duchies/etc. give a different feel to the game than if the names were all just in English. Much better for the role playing aspect, IMHO. :)

Agree!:)

Don't you dare to change Norge to Norway!*waves fist*

But the thing is some has English name and others 'national' name, as in example Burgundy should be Borgougne, Castile should be Castilla, Provence should be Provenza and so on

Oooh! I want to play

Morgannwg!

Let me guess--Welsh?

Hmmm . . . I didn't think about that. Let me refine my opinion then: I think the names should all either be in English or in the respective native language. I'm not so sure it's a good idea to mix though. :)

Has there been any explanation of the reasoning behind the names? I haven't seen anything and I'm here pretty regularly. Just wondering if I missed something....

Yep. They're Welsh :)

And I agree on the name forms: Either keep it all in English (or, rather, in the language of the rest of the game) or have it all in "native" forms.

Oh i do imagine:

Êèåâñêîå êíÿæåñòâî
Íîâãîðîä

That would be sweet:D

will there be possible revolters or counties / duchies breaking away from centralised goverment?

the French crown had lots of territories (loan), but some of them became more or less independent (Brittany, Flanders, etc),

any feedback on this one?

Ia! Ia! Cthulhu fhtagn! Cthulhu fhtagn!

And I agree with most everyone else, that the names should either all be in the language of the rest of the game or in the native language. (And prefer them to be in the native language.)

Then you will have to ajust yourself not to Chernigov/Tchernigov but to ×åðíèãîâ.

I vote for English: at least we have something unifying all those native languages - just imagine how much trouble you will have to face meeting in a game some Cyrillic letters, well i do - especially those diacritic signs of Scandinavian languages.:)

I think what people mean by "native language" is the name the native people called themselves, translated using the English alphabet, rather than the word we use in English to describe that place. ;)

I don't think anyone would seriously suggest using a Cyrillic or Scandinavian alphabet in English versions of the game. No one would know which country was which!

I'd prefer names all in English. This purely for my own personal ease of researching such states.

It shouldn't be that difficult....

For the most part, the "native" names are pretty self-apparent - i.e., Borgougne is Burgundy, Castilla is Castile, and so on. :)
